MIT Blackjack team teaches you ultimate winning strategies

Bob Kaplan was the initiator of a master blackjack team which he started in his time at MIT. He recruited students who had an acumen for figures and over the course of 15 years he and his team won some $10 million from casinos around the world playing blackjack.

He refined card counting to a point where it was almost undetectable. While card counting may be frowned upon it is not illegal and many of his students earned a handsome living. During the week they were hardworking students studying for exams and hold down part time jobs as waiters but on weekends it was a whole other story.

In 2002 a book, Bring the House down, was published which told the story of the team's blackjack adventures. Bob Kaplan was not mentioned in the book which became a number one best seller. When the film 21 was released, again there was no mention of Kaplan that is when he decided to set the record straight.

Although he no longer plays blackjack either professionally or recreationally, he will never be forgotten by casinos and blackjack players around the world. At the time that he was actively managing his blackjack teams, he became very well known to casinos so that he could not enter a casino and had to manage his team remotely, as well as refining strategies and organising finances. With Kaplan at the helm, blackjack became a business venture where the outcome was certain, nothing depended on chance.

Today Kaplan is a successful business man and he still bases his business on the concept of his blackjack strategy, "You are always betting in proportion to your capital. If you lose money, you lower your bet. So theoretically, your risk of ruin is always zero."
