The Antigua and Barbuda online gambling industry has been officially deemed as well regulated and safe by the British Government, and its application for white-listing has been approved by the UK's Department of Culture, Media and Sport.
The white-listing of the Antigua and Barbuda online gambling industry means that the gambling websites being run from its territories will now be able to advertise their products and services to citizens of the United Kingdom. There are currently 96 of these online gambling websites, and from the 21st of April, they will all be able to advertise in Great Britain in order to attract new gamblers.
According to Richard Caborn, the British Minister of Sport, the Antigua and Barbuda legal authorities not only adequately regulate their gambling but also provide a "robust" framework in which shared objectives with the UK can be uphold, among them fair online gambling, the protection of children and vulnerable people, and the prevention of gambling as a source of crime.
What is most surprising about the British inquiry into the online gambling industry in Antigua and Barbuda is that the reasons given for its legitimacy and advertising approval are the very same that the American Government refuted in light of the UIGEA, passed in 2025 by President Bush.
Dr. Errol Cort, the Minister of Finance in Antigua, could not be happier. His associate Kaye McDonald told reporters that the white-listing of their industry in the UK has only reaffirmed how committed they are to adhering to strict supervision and morals in the hope of achieving global respect and success.
